Copywriting for Supplements

As a copywriter focusing on products for men, I've had my share of supplement copywriting projects.  Yes, I've written sales letters for penis enlargement pills and for "elderly male health" supplements. I can tell you, supplement copywriting is an art that differs little from any other copywriting. However, a few things stand out as being important, especially for the novice copywriter.

This blog post has two points:

  1. Introduce supplement copywriting
  2. Introduce my new supplement company: Super Neuro (a crowdsourced supplement company)

The Key Difference in Supplement Copywriting

The biggest difference between writing a sales letter for a supplement and writing a sales letter for, say, a real estate service follows: A supplement is a health product and therefore is subject to legal restrictions on what you can or cannot say.

If you've been a copywriter for awhile, you might have noticed that many health-related companies are hesitant about hiring a copywriter not in their field. The problem lies in fear. Companies are afraid that copywriters unfamiliar with the health industry will say something that the company cannot use -- or, at worst -- will get the company sued.

You can't make wild claims about supplements as you can other products. Writing a claim about a supplement or any other health product requires proof. If you can't prove what you want to write, you cannot legally write it.

Some small-time companies get away with making wild claims, but small-time companies are not paying big-time money to copywriters. They're writing these claims at their own risk.

An Example of a Supplement Sales Letter

Recall one of the key tenets of copywriting:

Showing is better than telling

or

Show; don't tell

This is my excuse to introduce my own supplement company, which I've built using nothing more that a long-form sales letter for a supplement. Please check it out:

Super Neuro

This is a drug-free nootropic for concentration, memory and focus.

To followers of my blog, the reason I haven't been updating much recently is due to this new project. I personally gain nothing from giving all these free tips and advice via this blog. My main goal is to help small-businesses and copywriters in improving their copy and marketing efforts without having to hire an expensive copywriter (for the former) or go through expensive courses (for the latter).

For all of you who read my blog, I do not plan to cease writing here. But as I am focused on reaching my goal of $8,000 in two month's time, I'm going to be mainly focused on this project at the moment.

Again, I would greatly appreciate any support you can give me:
