Here's the problem with modern copywriting: It's techniques are based on empirical results. Let me explain:

  1. Successful copywriters copy successful copy.
  2. Successful copy is copy with high conversion rates.
  3. Most copy is written for "the consumer."
  4. "The consumer" is overwhelmingly female.

Conclusion: Most copywriting techniques are based on what works for female consumers.

In other words...

...Copywriters who are writing copy for male-heavy markets are relying on flawed techniques!

How are we to be successful if we are applying a set of female preferences to a male audience? The simple answer is we won't be successful.
